WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY
Mike,
Hi and thanks in advance for your helpful advice. I am searching for a power pole for my husband for Father's Day. I know nothing! I do know that we fish in the Gulf on the flats and his boat is 17ft Capehorn. Will the Dig In work for us and if so, which model and how do I know if he'd need stern or bow mount? Thanks SOOOO much!
Renee D. - Starke, Fl

Mike,
I came across your site while searching for power poles. I really would prefer your system over the power poles setup. I am a crappie fishermen fishing in the CrappieMasters and Crappie USA fishing circuit. I was wondering if you have some kind of affliate program for semi pro fishermen. I think your product would be huge in our type of fishing setups. I would be more than happy to pass out literature at seminars and display your sticker on my boat. What ever you prefer. I think your bow mount setup would really be a hit with crappie fisherman.
David P. - Houston, TX

Mike,
I just got a 2011 Tidewater 180CC. Center Console 18ft I have a trolling motor and a 90 hp I fishing in the water way at nc beaches with the different tide 7-8 ft and currents and the waves, what is the right system for my needs. I was going to get the talon and found your web site. I saw you had dealers in SC how about NC I am wanting the best system Thanks
Charles D. - Fayetteville, NC

Mike,
I'm interested in Bass Boat and Multi-species Boat applications / installations. As the former President of the RI BASS Federation Nation and current officer of my Bass Club, I would imagine several people in my area (Rhode Island / Massachusetts) should be interested in an economical alternative to the costly Power Pole. I'm interested in various self-installation alternatives you may shed light on. I can see one huge advantage to your product in a headwind with the bow mounted system.
Roy - Boston, MA

Mike,
I own a g3 1860 ccj dlx and have been looking at your product for a couple weeks. I am sold, but am curious as the best mounting options. I like the idea of mounting to stock trolling mount, but wonder how easily that would go doing it myself. Any thoughts or other options? Also I?d like the Fish Hunter package, any recommendations on the stern? I mainly fish on the Potomac and tributaries, just FYI.
Ronnie B. - Martinsburg, WV

Mike,
Thanks very much. I really think this will be a perfect product for placing my boat perfectly in the the brush to catch crappie. I was seriously looking at the talon but it only reaches down 8' so there are a lot of situations for me that it would have been no use and it would be hard to buy two of them and you cannot mount one on the bow. So when I seen the dig in, I knew that's what I was going to buy. If you ever come out with 15' poles let me know cause I would buy some. Thanks a bunch for making a great product !!!! I will pass the the word around in Ohio here because there is a lot of business to be gotten up here in the north. Your anchors aren't just for them southern boys. Wish you had some dealers up here !!! God bless
Erik B. - Morral, OH

Trout fishing tips

By Martin Wilkins

One of the more popular game fish regularly sought after is Trout. There are many different types of Trout and many different ways to catch them. With such a wide variety of options in Trout fishing there are many ways to go about catching them. All you really need is to find a place that has Trout for you to catch.

One very popular method of Trout fishing is fly fishing. Unfortunately fly fishing has a reputation of being difficult to learn and require expensive special equipment in order to fish with flies. Luckily this is not really the case as there are many ways to use flies while fishing and some do not require any special equipment at all.

The first thing to know about fly fishing is flies have practically no weight to assist in casting. This is the reason fly fishing gear is specialized as it is the weight of the fly line that carries the fly to the fish. Fishing this way is very different from more standard methods of applying weights to carry the bait or lure to the fish.

Using a fly rod is not as difficult as many people believe and all it takes is a little practice to learn the basics. Few other methods of trout fishing are as relaxing as fly fishing and it is something I would suggest anyone at least consider if they love Trout fishing. Fortunately if you want to use flies to fish for Trout there really is no need to invest in all the expensive equipment.

An easy way to use flies with a standard spin casting fishing equipment is use a regular bobber to carry the line and the fly to the fish. There are even specialized clear bobbers that can be filled with water to help in this process. This is only one way among many you can use standard fishing equipment to fish with flies.

Trout may also be caught with almost any other standard fishing equipment from lightweight spin cast equipment to heavier weight deep water trolling equipment. The type of equipment you choose to use will vary depending on where you fish and what kind of trout you are trying to catch. Everything from mountain brook fishing for Rainbow or other species of Trout to deep lake trolling for large lake Trout is an option when you want to fish for Trout.

No matter what kind of Trout you want to catch learning the local conditions will help you choose the right equipment and method of fishing. Taking a little time to research the local conditions can go a long way in helping make your next trout fishing trip successful.

Things To Keep In Mind When Purchasing Used Fishing Boats

By Morgan Lee

It can be a bit challenging when it comes to buying used fishing boats. Boats are are more sensitive compared to vehicles. This is because they are always in contact with water and thus depreciation rate is too high. For that matter, you need to be very observant when shopping for these items.

There are several factors that you must consider before purchasing any boat, either locally or online. First, you have to conduct a thorough research to know better places where you can invest your money. Try to research different types in order to come across different models. If the search is tiresome, consider hiring a reliable broker to assist you.

Comparing different deals is the best way to save money. You can visit different boat sites and make good comparison. Buy from those places where you can get offers and discounts. Make price comparison in different boat stores and you will be able to save your money on affordable deals.

Consider hiring an expert to check boat condition on your behalf. Expert checking should be employed regardless of whether you choose to buy online or from a local dealer. Remember that some mechanical defects can only be detected by an expert. Make sure that the second hand boat has been fully examined to ensure it is in the right condition.

You also need to check the history of that particular boat you want to purchase. Get to know how long it has served the owner. Ask the seller the exact date it was bought and you will be able to do an estimation of how long it has been operating. If you choose to buy online, use the history search box to know everything you need concerning the boat.

You can judge the boat condition by looking at its construction. Try to check the conditions of hull, floor, deck and the transom. You can push the sides of the boat with your hands to see whether it is rotten. You may also choose to walk on the floor to ensure that it is pure solid.

Consider checking the motor condition. Ensure that the motor runs well and is suitable for that particular boat. Prefer trolling motors since they are suitable for fishing boats. Check also the wiring inside the used fishing boat to ensure that it has no frayed wires. Make sure that the battery is big enough to supply enough light inside the boat. All these factors will help you when choosing used fishing boats.

Try Out Some Of These Great Fishing Tips!

By Lim Vicent

Has fishing been something that you have lost interest in because you haven't had success with it? Delay no longer, because the piece that follows is packed with useful information to help you start fishing immediately. Have a look through and see what you can learn about fishing.

When attaching a lure or hook to the line, try using an improved clinch knot. Take hold of the end of your hook, and slide the line tip through it. Then make several turns over the line, preferably five, and pass the end into the eye and coil. To finish the knot pull it through the loops tightly.

Pack insect repellant in with your fishing gear. Remember that fishermen are in close contact with lots of different insects. One of the most prevalent is the mosquito. Use insect repellents exactly as directed on the container. If you forget to bring the bug spray, you are likely to get plenty of mosquito bites. You do not want to finish your fishing trip with tons of mosquito bites.

The most fun fish to catch are often hunters themselves. When you are looking for predatory fish, look for schools of their preferred bait-fish instead. Use a lure to attract your target and cast it in the center of the bait-fish.

Your bait should be well-hooked so that it is not lost. This is especially critical when fishing with live bait including worms. Try using a lengthwise motion when threading the hook through the worm. This prevents the worm from sliding off the hook.

Change your fishing techniques with the seasons. Even an area you are familiar with is worth investigating. You may be able to find a spot that you have previously overlooked. Many websites offer information on weather conditions such as wind, temperature and even water levels.

When fishing with another fisherman, the proper etiquette is to remove your line from the water as soon as your companion makes a catch. Of course, your companion should follow suit when you make a catch. This keeps the both of you from crossing lines with each other and ruining your chances of catching fish.

Day and night fishing need different approaches taken. Both night and day fishing can be really rewarding. Whenever for fishing for something like bass, it is important to use heavier lures so that you have a better feel for the lure in the water. When night fishing, you may find plastic worms, hair jigs, and pork rinds to come in handy. To avoid tangling your line, use single lures.

Use night crawlers and worms as bait when you go fishing for Perch. Because these species are from a similar environment to perch, they are attracted to them. Fresh bait and artificial bait are both well suited for fishing perch.

Always be aware of what the weather will throughout the day at the spot where you plan on going fishing. No one wants to find themselves in the middle of the water during a sudden thunderstorm. Take a look at the weather report to put yourself in the best position for your fishing excursion.

Talk to locals to get advice about the best ways to fish. Ask them to share the methods that have worked for them. Fishing habits evolve throughout the seasons and fellow fishers are typically very happy to tell you which lure or bait has been working well for them at different times.

Now it is time to use all the information you have learned about fishing. Applying the guidelines from this article will help you to develop the skills and techniques that guarantee successful fishing. Remember them as you plan your next fishing excursion.

Fisherman's Soap
Eliminating Fish smell, Skunk odor, Onion scent and Cigarette fumes

This product combats many different smells and has a wide variety of applications. It has been very effectively used by scientists and by those who work in the fishing industry. It also helps clean aquariums, to remove the skunk odors, and to clean fishing tackle.

Scientists who work for higher institutions, governments or corporations probably do not want to walk around smelling of fish. Unfortunately, smells can linger on anything that comes in contact with fish or sea life, including people, clothes, and tools. For those working for conservation of marine life, Fisherman's Soap is the perfect solution. It is safe to use and has no toxins so it does not harm the environment. It is also relatively cheap.

It also has beneficial applications to many fishing industries. Cleaning up after processing sea food and eliminating its odors can be made quick and easy. This applies to individuals who work with oysters, shrimp, clams, scallops, lobsters and crabs. For all of these, equipment, boats, and workers must all be kept clean.

In aquariums, sometimes bacterial growth becomes overwhelming. In these situations, it is important to clean out the entire tank. To assist with this process, combine Fishermans Soap with warm water. Then apply this solution to the bottom and sides of the tank. Make sure to rinse thoroughly afterwards, and before refilling the tank with water. Before replacing and dirty and grimy aquarium decorations, these can also be cleaned off with the same soapy warm water solution. Make sure you rinse off all residue before returning them to the tank.

Thee Fishermans Soap is also beneficial for use on larger pets. When dogs come in contact with skunks and get sprayed, it can eliminate those odors. It's effects last, unlike treatments with tomatoes, which mask the scent until it wears off. Shampoos will not be strong enough. But this brand has been successfully used by customers to clean their pets of the offensive odor.

Finally, tackle gear smells can be eliminated. First remove all equipment and rinse out the container with Fishermans Soap and warm water. Make sure to get every hinge and compartment. Then dry with a towel. Clean all equipment and wash hands as well. During the washing process, human odors will be washed away. Therefore it is unnecessary to add artificial fish scent to mask human odors.

This brand of soap has many useful applications. It can help fish and marine professionals maintain an odor free appearance and environment. Further it helps with cleaning and odor elimination for several marine industries. It can clean aquariums and tackle, and even fight off the perfume of a skunk. It has no chemicals and can be purchased cheaply.
